The San Luis Obispo Community (SLO)

The MKP SLO Community is made up of more than 60 men from diverse backgrounds who believe that emotionally mature, powerful, compassionate, and purpose-driven men model for the world what it means to live in integrity, authenticity and service.  We support the brilliance of men, and we care deeply about men, our families, communities and the planet.

Local Opportunities for Involvement:

MEN'S GROUPS

In an MKP men’s group, men mentor men throughout the passages of their lives.  Our men’s ‘circles’ typically meet weekly, or every other week.  We create a sacred space where men can share, heal and grow by exploring what’s up for them.  If you are ready to transform your challenges into your purpose and mission, please contact one of our local MKP leaders for more information.

“I finally found a group of men that I can call brothers.  They embody the mature masculine, and are the type of men that I have been waiting for all my life.”

Discover Your Path

For the second time, we’ll be hosting a Discover Your Path (DYP) training event at the Swallow Creek Ranch in San Luis Obispo County on November 7, 2026.  Discover Your Path is an experience that lets you discover and connect to the mission that is most compelling in your life right now.  At the heart of it, is a one-day outdoor experience that walks you through a journey of challenge, discovery, reflection, and integration and is purposefully set in nature to help you get in touch with what is most essential to you at this point in your life.

Set the ground work with 4 zoom sessions from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, on Tue., Oct. 20th, Tue., Oct. 27th, Tue., Nov. 3rd and Tue., Nov. 10th.

New Warrior Training Adventure

The New Warrior Training Adventure (NWTA) is typically a 48-hour intensive retreat.  It is a life-affirming personal development event, a modern day initiation.  It honors the best men have to offer the planet and charges them to step up to meet the challenges–and embrace the opportunities–of an evolutionary time.  It’s tough, it’s rewarding, and it’s unlike anything else available.  NWTA’s are offered throughout the year at locations around the world, including trainings in California.

Community Events and Opportunities

Central Coast Beach Dancers – Come dance in Morro Bay on the 1st Saturday of every month, and in Cambria  on all other Saturdays.

We come from a somatic perspective that moving inward toward the painful feelings we want to avoid – instead of trying to fix or let go of them – will lead us organically into ease and joy. Through this practice, we become more whole and joyfullness simply arises from being fully present.

To find out more, please contact Chris Kitts  – 805-305-1735.

Feeding the Homeless – The first Sunday of every month in SLO @ 4:45 pm.  This is an opportunity to serve those who need it the most in our community.  Come out and help support your brothers in feeding over 100 members of SLO’s homeless community..

Please contact Kevin Hauber for further information – 805-459-8844.

The 2026 SLO Community Gathering was held at Pereira Octagon Barn (Milking Parlor), 4400 Octagon Way in SLO, on Tuesday, January 27, from 5:00-9:00 pm.  We had an incredible night of celebration with men from the SLO MKP Community and surrounding areas. There was an opportunity to connect and play.  A delicious meal was provided while men shared the various projects that went on over the course of the last year.  The theme was “Celebrating our Impact, Keeping the Momentum Going”.  Over the last year, we’ve initiated much – manning a booth at SLO Farmers Market, serving meals to the homeless and hosting a Discover Your Path locally.  This was the third annual SLO Community Gathering.
